Did you live near train tracks where it snowed?

As a young child I was handed my first camera and through the viewfinder was some of my earliest memories of the Snowy River down South of Australia. The railway I captured spoke of untold mystery and adventure. Thank you kindly for the memories. While the photos are irretrievable, the memories will last forever.

Honestly, sometimes it's better not to have the photograph and the memory instead.

In Alabama, we call this much snow a Blizzard. How did you ever survive?! D8

It was a nice day to be outside. The snow was sticking on the ground but not on the roads.

This is gorgeous - so atmospheric.. it feels like the train line goes on forever into the distance, and the snow and light sky accentuate the reds and oranges on the ground.++

An idyllic scene. It's dangerous to walk on or around railway tracks, but I'd just like to take a stroll there.

This track is hardly ever used. They use it to move trains around occasionally. It is a nice place to stroll :)

When the southerners stay off the roads because they don't know how to deal with the stuff and the northerners stay off the road because some of the southerners do not.

At least you got a lovely shot out of the deal.

So true. I'm originally from the North so I know how to drive on snow. But I don't go out because most people driving around in it do not. I can recall many times when I would be behind someone who hit their brakes on a bridge and spun out. Fortunately I was never hit :).

Of the 3 I think I like this one the best, it's more perspective-y. You also get a good look at the trees, the railroad track and the rocks, and makes you feel the size of the area better.

This is a very gorgeous shot. I grew up in Wisconsin and we get more snow than we could stand. :) This snapshot makes me appreciate winter. Good job. :)
